What is the difference between Proof of Work and Proof of Stake?
Proof of Work (PoW), used by cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, requires miners to solve complex mathematical puzzles to validate transactions and add them to the blockchain. This process is energy-intensive and relies on powerful hardware.
Proof of Stake (PoS), on the other hand, relies on validators who hold and “stake” their coins as collateral. Validators are chosen to confirm transactions based on the size of their stake and other factors, making PoS more energy-efficient than PoW.
